Sleeping Like a Baby

WHAT I DO

WHO DO I WORK WITH?

I work with families and babies from newborn upwards to develop a pattern of good sleep habits. This is on a one-to-one and individual basis. Each child and each family is different and unique and is treated as such.

I believe in a building a trusting collaborative relationship with each family so that we can work out the best solutions together. Parents are the experts on their own children. so you will not find any condescending or patronising attitudes here. I work to guide families, support them and to give them the confidence to help their child learn good sleeping skills.

For newborns and younger babies I offer my Sleep Guidance and Advice Sessions

My Super Sleeper Package with support is available for children aged 6 months to 6 years.

I work with clients all over Ireland and internationally.

WHERE WILL THE CONSULTATION TAKE PLACE?

The consultation will take place virtually via video call or in your home, depending on your location.

If you are located over 30 minute's drive from Galway, a small travel surcharge will apply.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS?

  • We have an introductory call to help me to understand your sleep challenges and to give you the chance to ask me questions about how I work. If you are happy to book a service with me then we confirm a date.

  •  I ask you to complete a detailed form about your child's routine and sleep issues.

  • I schedule our consultation which typically takes 60-90 minutes or so. I do encourage both parents to attend if at all possible.

  • During the consultation we will discuss all areas of your child's sleep, the challenges you are experiencing and contributing factors. Together we will devise a step-by-step sleep plan that you are comfortable with and which is appropriate for your family.

  • Following our consultation I you will keep a sleep diary via an app. I review your sleep diary regularly and provide regular support. Phone calls are very important to give each family the support and guidance that they need. I typically call you at a suitable time  to check how you are doing, how your night was, discuss any questions you may have and to adjust our plan when necessary. I do not limit the time that I give on my calls to each family. Neither do I limit messages or emails.

WHAT PROBLEMS CAN I HELP WITH?

I help families to resolve a multitude of sleep issues, including the following:

  • Your baby cannot sleep without the breast or bottle

  • Your baby wakes during the night and cannot go back to sleep without the breast or bottle

  • Your baby or child wakes frequently during the night

  • Your baby must be rocked or held to sleep or go back to sleep

  • Your baby will only sleep on you

  • Your child refuses to sleep in their own cot or bed

  • Your child goes to sleep in their own cot or bed but you end up bringing them into your own bed during the night.

  • You regularly have to sleep in your child's bed or bedroom

  • Your child is tired but refuses to nap, only naps in the car or buggy or has very short naps and wakes up grumpy

  • You have bedtime battles every night with your toddler or young child or you are spending a long time staying with them as they settle.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Please find a breakdown of my prices and packages here.

DO I HAVE TO STOP BREASTFEEDING, SHARING A ROOM OR TAKE AWAY THE DUMMY/DODY?

Absolutely not. None of this is necessary for a good night's sleep and I will never ask you to do something that you are not comfortable with.
